Boat Lifts
March 4, 2025Boat Lift Motors
Before Lift Tech Marine there was a boat lift motor called Shore Commander. These boat lift motors made by Shore Commander were direct drive units for AC and DC motors. You could find many of these units on Shorestation boat lifts as the Shorestation lifts were too heavy to crank up with the wheel. As more Shorestation lifts were sold the need for stronger motors became apparent.
The direct drive motors were upgraded from 5,000 pounds lifting capability to now 7,000 pounds. With over 100,000 Verticle boat lifts being sold a year, the need for a boat lift motor becomes even more relevant. Today you have two options of boat lift motors. One by Lift Tech Marine and one by Extreme Max Boat Lift Boss. We sell both of these company's products in our store and on our website.
Both of these companies also offer a Wheel Drive motor that allows you to keep the wheel on the boat lift in case something happens to the motor. You can easily disconnect the wheel drive motor and continue to use the wheel. The wheel drive motors are made for AC and also DC systems. You also have the option for a complete solar panel kit. The disadvantage of a wheel drive motor is the lifting capability only goes to 5,000 pounds. You can find a complete wheel drive Solar panel system here. Above all, it has everything you need to bolt this unit right onto your boat lift. All you need to purchase would be a deep-cycle battery to operate the lift.
Lift Tech Marine came out with a PWC (Personal Water Craft) boat lift motor a couple of years ago. This PWC direct drive motor includes everything you need to mount to your boat lift, including the PWC winch, mounting kit, Motor, and cover for the PWC winch. The PWC boat lift motors are available in AC and also DC to use one battery on. All DC systems are available in a complete solar panel packages as well, as can be found here. Again, the only thing you would need to purchase for the DC complete solar panel system is a deep-cycle battery to operate the PWC lift.
